Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter, Simone Johnson, officially signed a contract with WWE in 2020 after spending months training at the WWE Performance Center. She has yet to debut with the company due to a number of injuries that require surgery, but this week she took to Twitter to reveal her new name for professional wrestler, Ava Raine.
WWE recently used to not allow wrestlers to use any parts of their real names or independent wrestling names once they started appearing on TV. That includes wrestlers who come from famous families, like how NXT Champion Bron Breakker doesn’t use Steiner’s last name despite Rick and Scott Steiner being his father and uncle.

“Dreams aren’t just for dreamers,” wrote The Rock when he announced Simon’s signature. “Congratulations to my firstborn, Simone Johnson on officially signing her wrestling contract with WWE and on her way to becoming the first female fourth generation female athlete from WWE. Carry our family name proudly, but your way will always be yours. , Win & Own. So proud. Live your dream. Let’s run.”
Triple H said of Simon back in 2019: “I know she has the ‘glitch’ at work. She took her love from her dad. If you were to ask The Rock, there’s no such thing as that electricity, that connection he has with people. It all stems from From his time in WWE. His love for that is obvious. I think she sees it too. It’s in her blood. If that’s something you want to pursue – I know he’s big, like me, in continuing education and doing everything the right way.
